Oral Hygienist
Our Hygienists are fully qualified and highly experienced members of our team.
They mainly focus on providing maintenance treatment but will provide active gum treatment where normal gum health has relapsed.
Gum disease causes inflammation of the tissue that surrounds and supports teeth. If this is left untreated it can lead to recession of the gums, this causes pockets to develop and eventually leads to loosening and loss of teeth.
Regular maintenance visits with one of our Hygienists will help maintain healthy teeth and gums as well as protecting general health conditions such as heart problems and diabetes.
During a hygienist appointment health, gums and teeth are assessed, measurements are recorded to help with future assessments.
AIRFLOW® System
We would like to introduce our patients to the new AIRFLOW® system that our hygienists can use to help treat a variety of conditions.
To remove plaque and tartar build- up our new Air flow system may be used.
Air flow works by using a fine jet of compressed air, water, and fine powder particles. It is a powerful treatment used for deep cleaning of any pocketed areas and stain removal such as coffee, red wines, and tobaccos.
- ● AIRFLOW® is a predictable procedure for the removal of plaque, stains and calculus from teeth and implants, above and below the gumline.
- ● AIRFLOW® is the only technology that gently and efficiently removes plaque from inaccessible areas such as deep pits and fissures, interdental spaces, misaligned areas, below crown margins, around implants, recessions and orthodontic appliances.
- ● AIRFLOW® is safe and doesn’t damage natural teeth, implants, restorations and soft tissues.
We also offer helpful oral hygiene advice and demonstrate home care products.
Direct access appointments with one of our Hygienists are also available subject to availability of appointments.
